Using errors in halftoning to increase reproduction accuracy
نویسنده
چکیده
Halftones, or periodic cluster dithers, are point-to-point, contone pixel to halftone dot, conversion processes. This paper describes an approach to achieving accurate halftone reproduction by using the errors caused during the scan conversion process without comparison to the source pixels and maintaining the point-to-point scan conversion paradigm. Two types of density errors encounter in the halftoning process are considered. 1. An error describing the difference between the input pixel value and the halftone threshold value. 2. An error describing the difference between the density level of the output data and the reflection density of the ink or toner on the page.

Comprehensive Halftoning of 3D Scenes
The display of images on binary output hardware requires a halftoning step. Conventional halftoning algorithms approximate image values independently from the image content and often introduce artificial texture that obscures fine details. The objective of this research is to adapt a halftoning technique to 3D scene information and thus to enhance the display of computer generated 3D scenes. Ou...
متن کاملContext Dependent Colour Halftoning in Digital Printing
Halftoning of a colour image is normally performed by halftoning the colour separations independently. Each halftoned image then builds the corresponding colour separation of the final halftoned colour image. In conventional halftoning methods different screen angles for different separations are being used to reduce the correlation between the separations to reduce artefacts in the form of moi...
متن کاملHigh Accuracy Relative Motion of Spacecraft Using Linearized Time-Varying J2-Perturbed Terms
This paper presents a set of linearized equations was derived for the motion, relative to an elliptical reference orbit, of an object influenced by J2 perturbation terms. Approximate solution for simulations was used to compare these equations and the linearized keplerian equations to the exact equations. The inclusion of the linearized perturbations in the derived equations increased the high ...
متن کاملMultichannel DBS halftoning for improved texture quality
The paper aims to develop a method for multichannel halftoning based on the Direct Binary Search (DBS) algorithm. We integrate specifics and benefits of multichannel printing into the halftoning method in order to further improve texture quality of DBS and to create halftoning that would suit for multichannel printing. Originally, multichannel printing is developed for an extended color gamut, ...
متن کاملHalftoning and quasi-Monte Carlo
In performing statistical studies in simulation science, it is often necessary to estimate the value of an integral of a function that is based on a simulation calculation. Because simulations tend to be costly in terms of computer time and resources, the ability to accurately estimate integrals with a minimum number of function evaluations is a critical issue in evaluating simulation codes. Th...
